# Sustainability

"In many cases plastics are actually better for the environment than the alternatives. It is surprising until you look closely at it” Susan Selke, director of the school of packaging at Michigan State University.

## SUSTAINABILITY AREAS

### Our main approaches to further improve the sustainability of your packaging.

## Post-consumer recycled resin

The use of post-consumer recycled resin: this is resin that has been produced with plastics that have already been recycled. It is more sustainable as it generally has a lower carbon footprint compared to virgin resin.

## Recycling ready packaging

The use of a recycled structure according to the How2Recycle requirements: packaging that is designed to be recyclable is more sustainable as it is less likely to be landfilled or even end up in the environment (ocean pollution etc.)

## Bio-based resin

The use of bio-based plastic materials: this is resin that has been produced with renewable bio-materials such as sugar cane instead of artificial sources such as oil.
